When looking at the list of candidates for Top Chef 2023, the chefs come from all over the world this year: Spain, England, Belgium, New Zealand, Quebec, Italy... But fear not, a fearless chef from Lyon will compete against them (and we're rooting for him of course).

A chef who's worked at the best tables in Lyon

His name is Miguel Garcia-Herrera (okay, we won't hide that he's obviously not originally from Lyon), he is 27 years old and maybe he's not unfamiliar to you... Born in Mexico, he joined the Foreign Legion to get papers and fulfill his dream of working in the top kitchens of Europe after his Sicilian grandfather passed on the cooking bug to him (source). Starting as a chef de partie at Marguerite Bocuse in Lyon, Miguel then worked at the Bistrot d'Abel before becoming head chef at L&rsq.Astra, an excellent restaurant specializing in barbecue-cooked meat and fish (unfortunately now closed). He then makes his grand return behind the stoves of Bistrot d'Abel as a sous-chef.

In 2021 already, a chef from Lyon had participated in the program in the person of Adrien Zedda, chef of the famous Culina Hortus restaurant. See you on March 1st for the start of the competition, which will have a different flavor.

Full of changes in sight: no more last chance challenge, secret brigade, and even "simpler" tests aimed at making cooking understandable for viewers (thank you).
