We all love guinguettes. They are synonymous with summer, sunshine, and relaxation. While they are often set in rustic and bucolic settings, some can sometimes be found right in the city center. This is the case with Gigi. Located in Lyon, it is among the 10 most charming guinguettes in France! With a large terrace, vintage decor, musical events, and refreshing drinks, it has it all! (Psst, it's also open all summer long!)

Welcome to Gigi, the vintage guinguette located in the Croix Rousse neighborhood. Opened in 2020, it is now among the 10 most charming in France, just like that! According to the survey by the specialized website and magazine AlloVoyages, the little guinguette in Lyon has managed to stand out and be different. Because yes, unlike other "traditional" guinguettes, often located near lakes or rivers, here it is right in the city center that it has found its place, and stood out. An vintage atmosphere full of charm.
When you arrive at Gigi's, you are immediately immersed in a vintage 70's style ambiance. With its upcycled decor and design references, everything is there to make you feel good, and you feel VERY good there. With its huge sunny terrace (sometimes a bit of shade provided by the trees), this little guinguette can accommodate up to 100 people (so you can bring ALL your friends). Fun fact, Gigi gets its name from the famous song by Dalida, "Gigi l'Amoroso", which evokes the Italian side and the art of living: ideal for a guinguette!

A refreshing guinguette

But Gigi is above all a bar, so what is there to quench your thirst? One thing is certain, there is something for everyone: 7 taps of different craft beers, wine, organic and local, (staying true to the guinguette spirit) and plenty of cocktails with rum, gin, whisky and whatever you desire! But since we are food lovers, we also enjoy eating. You will find tapas and toast to share (or not) between 5 and 10€. The guinguette Gigi is also livened up by many events that bring the place to life. From pop-up food to DJ sets that create a lively atmosphere on Boulevard de la Croix Rousse.
