Since the closure of Food Traboule in August 2024, there has been a mystery surrounding the future of La Tour Rose, this iconic place in Vieux Lyon that had tried the experience of a bistronomic food court before it all changed.sombrer. Rumors, speculations… everyone was wondering who would take up the torch. Today, our colleagues from Lyon People revealed the secret: get ready for a giant buffet with a Lyonnaise twist!

At the helm of this new adventure, the Gaget family (Brasserie Gabriel) is teaming up with Farid Mezaber and Eddy Febure, who are already leading the Palais Saint Jean. Gone are the twelve corners and trendy bars, welcoming a buffet that invites everyone to enjoy the best of Lyonnais and French specialties. The idea? A popular and generous concept inspired by the famous restaurant Les Grands Buffets in Narbonne.
€29 at lunch and €39 at dinner for an all-you-can-eat buffet
And the centerpiece of this exciting new project? A giant rotisserie set up in the former bar on the ground floor. Roasted chickens, suckling pigs, braised ham… A delight for lovers of traditional cuisine. The founders emphasize maximum accessibility, with a price of €29 for lunch and €39 for dinner to enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet of appetizers and desserts. "Price shouldn't be a barrier; everyone should be able to treat themselves," stresses one of the restaurateurs, who is counting on a strong turnout to ensure the place’s profitability.

On the decor side, the artist Alex will take care of the murals, and if all goes as planned, the first customers will be able to sit down starting April 15, 2025. It's a bold move, contrasting with the Food Traboule experience, and it could very well breathe new life into this legendary location in Vieux Lyon.
