Every year, La Liste reveals its ranking of the 1,000 best restaurants on the planet. And every year, some addresses from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region make their mark at the top of global cuisine. Known as "the ranking of rankings", La Liste analyzes 35,000 restaurants across 200 countries using a sophisticated algorithm that compiles reviews from over 1,100 sources (guides, blogs, press) to assign a score out of 100 to each establishment.
A tribute to Bresse poultry and a legendary career
This year, a delightful spot from our beautiful region stands out, finishing in 3rd place worldwide: the Georges Blanc restaurant in Vonnas (1 hour from Lyon). The chef, a true icon of French gastronomy and ambassador of the famous Bresse poultry, has his talent and commitment rightfully recognized here. A starry region in the sky
But that's not all! The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is truly shining in this ranking. Just ahead of Georges Blanc, we have the Régis and Jacques Marcon restaurant in Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid, coming in second globally with a score of 99/100. And, tied with Georges Blanc, the Troisgros restaurant.Le Bois sans Feuilles at Ouches completes this starry podium.
Adding to this are names like La Maison Pic, La Mère Brazier in Lyon, and the legendary Paul Bocuse in Collonges-au-Mont-d’Or, turning the region into an essential pilgrimage site for gourmet lovers. On a global level, Japan stands out with 126 restaurants in the top 1,000, ahead of the United States (114) and France (111). We can still be proud of our delicious country!
