Located on Rue Neuve since late 2018, before the arrivals of Carmelo, Bichon or Chikin Bang, the chocolate bar Diggers closed its doors at the end of August. An unexpected closure as the people of Lyon loved to savor their delicious hot chocolates during the winter and iced chocolates during the summer while stocking up on good chocolate bars with original flavors. In total, the address will have served a whopping 88,769 hot chocolates, 14,680 Liège waffles and 3,956 chocolate fondues to chocolate lovers.

If the shop is closing its doors, the Diggers adventure continues with the Manufacture DIGGERS: an authentic 100% artisanal chocolate factory made in Lyon. Discover their creations online at www.diggers-chocolat.com. For those nostalgic or who missed the chance to sit at Diggers, here's a glimpse of what it was like: a spot with decor made of wood panels, slightly vintage furniture, and hanging plants around a large elevated drainage pipe; incredible hot chocolates, a chocolate fondue with fresh fruits, and carefully selected chocolate bars from producers.
The best chocolate bar in Lyon bids farewell
On the menu, you could find: white chocolate with matcha, orange-cinnamon hot chocolate, hot chocolate with gingerbread spices, salted caramel chocolates, and a whole array of delicacies that made Diggers a beloved spot in Lyon.
With chanterelle mushrooms and juniper berries, hot chocolate with blackcurrant and verbena or even an experimental (but no less delicious) cocoa infusion made from cocoa bean husks (note that there is about 1/2 tablet per hot chocolate, hooray for generosity). And 95% of the tablets guaranteed organic. In addition to hot chocolates, cold drinks, teas, coffees, the Diggers house also offered pastries specially created by an independent pastry chef trained alongside the great Christophe Michalak, including an orgasmic raw chocolate and gluten-free buckwheat tart.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
