The curtain finally rises on the post-Eden Rock Café scene. A year after the closure of this beloved establishment that once brought life to Rue Mercière, a new chapter is being written at 68 in this culinary artery of Lyon. On April 4th, La Brasserie des Deux Rives will take over the space and promises to honor its illustrious predecessor.
Behind this project, we find La Nouvelle Garde, a restaurant group that is already bringing joy to Parisians with its friendly brasseries and generous cuisine. This time, they are setting up their pots in Lyon, and not just anywhere: in a building that is classified as a Historic Monument, whose walls have witnessed different eras, from abbey church to basilica, before becoming a temple of gastronomy.

While the address aims to be a traditional brasserie, the Lyonnais influence is definitely present. On the plates, you'll find must-try dishes from the region like the brioche sausage, chicken with crayfish, and the essential praline tart. Classics, yes, but elevated by Chef Céleste Martin, who previously worked at Brasserie Dubillot and is ready to delight Lyon with authentic and responsible cuisine.
Far from being just another spot, La Brasserie des Deux Rives is a true tribute to the French art of living. Fresh, seasonal products, artisanal know-how, and a warm atmosphere all come together: everything is designed to carry on the tradition of great brasseries while championing strong values like equal opportunity and training the talents of tomorrow. It’s an ambitious project that’s bound to make waves and, above all, delight Lyon's food lovers seeking a new place to relax. And the setting is sure to impress—you’ll just have to see for yourself...
