We already knew and loved Vivants, this cozy spot tucked away near Cordeliers that combines a lively wine cellar, a friendly bar, and ultra-comforting food. With soft lighting, a charming little terrace spilling out onto the street, a smiling team, and a laid-back vibe: it’s definitely the kind of place where you just come for "one drink"… before ultimately closing down the night.

But this summer, the independent bar in the 2nd arrondissement is taking it up a notch with a new concept called “Cocktail Hour.” The idea? Every evening, completely at random, a bell rings throughout the bar. From that moment on, customers have an hour to enjoy a signature cocktail for just €1. Yes, the price of a baguette… or almost, rest in peace, dear baguette.

Creative cocktails and a true neighborhood vibe
Behind this ultra feel-good concept, the idea is simple: allow the people of Lyon to go out without breaking the bank. And honestly, in a time when a cocktail can sometimes cost as much as the GDP of a small country, this initiative is truly a breath of fresh air. The creations will evolve all summer around a sparkling base reminiscent of a revamped spritz. Among the first announced recipes: a pineapple & spirulina cocktail or a watermelon, orange blossom, and passionfruit version. Clearly, we're far from the sad old mojito served in a burning glass.

And just like at Vivants, drinking without eating is almost a culinary crime! You absolutely have to pair your drinks with some delicious homemade dishes. Ultra-tender gnocchis, shareable pintxos, pâté en croûte, cheeses, spreads, burgers, or hot dogs: here, comfort food meets natural wines and craft beers in a joyful and perfectly balanced mix. The “Cocktail Hour” begins on June 1st and will last until September 1st. Three whole months to try to hear that famous magic bell and enjoy a budget-friendly aperitif with friends.
