According to a survey conducted by Preply, the online language learning site, on a sample of 1500 people between January and February 2024, "pelo" proudly ranks 7th on the list of the most familiar regional expressions for the French. But what does "pelo" exactly mean for the people of Lyon? It's simple: it's the equivalent of "mec" used in the rest of France. A casual and friendly way to address someone, which could be translated as "my buddy" or "my guy."
