Ingredients:
- 2 apples, diced
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp cane sugar
- Cinnamon and/or pumpkin spice
- 100g cream cheese
- 6 tbsp maple syrup (minimum)
- 4 slices brioche bread
- 2 eggs
- 120ml milk
- Salt
Preparation:
- Over medium heat, caramelize the apples in 2 tablespoons of butter and cane sugar, adding a pinch of salt
- Whisk the cream cheese in a bowl and add maple syrup (taste to adjust sweetness)
- In another bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and cinnamon
- Make sandwiches with the caramelized apples and brioche bread
- Dip each sandwich in the milk, egg, and cinnamon mixture
- Allow excess milk to drip off before browning in 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until the pan sizzles
- Mix the remaining ingredients to serve as a topping for the French toast sandwiches
