While several municipalities in the Rhône region were hit by heavy storms this Thursday, Lyon and the department are expected to be affected again on Friday and Saturday. Violent storms are expected in Lyon this Friday afternoon but especially on Saturday, which should be the most risky day. "The first storm triggers are expected in the early afternoon in Auvergne," explains Keraunos, the French observatory of tornadoes and severe storms, as reported by Actu Lyon. "They will then progress towards the west of Rhône-Alpes and then towards the Saône valley. The supercellular risk is marked with potentially strong hailstorms and occasionally vigorous wind gusts."

Heavy rain, hail, and gusts of wind
In Lyon, the likelihood of strong storms is considered high. Disturbances will gradually shift towards the Jura. Météo-France has placed the Rhône department on yellow alert for storms on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, heavy rain, large hailstorms, and significant gusts of wind are expected. Although the storms are expected to last all day on Saturday, Sunday should be rainy but much calmer.
So, snuggle up and relax!
