It's always sad to see a historic shop close its doors, especially one that has been a part of the Confluence shopping and leisure center for so long. The Hollister store, owned by the American company Abercrombie & Fitch, has been a staple since April 2012, when the center first opened. Sadly, after 12 years of being a beloved part of Confluence, the store will be closing for good on January 21, 2024. But fear not, as a new chapter is about to begin - the Spanish brand Stradivarius will be taking over the location. It's always bittersweet to see a chapter end, but exciting to see what new adventures lie ahead.

But fear not, fans of the USA-made ready-to-wear brand: the Westfield La Part-Dieu shopping center store will remain open. After a few booming years, mainly due to the brand's hype and the characteristic atmosphere of the store (loud music, staff in minimal clothing, abundance of perfume, and nightclub-like ambiance), Hollister has been struggling for several years. A setback partly explained by the controversies surrounding parent company Abercrombie & Fitch, accused of discriminatory hiring practices and only offering clothes for "thin and beautiful" people.

So, the Spanish giant Stradivarius will take over. A brand that opened its first store in Lyon in early 2023...within the Westfield La Part-Dieu shopping center.
