This Thursday, September 11, the Trenitalia company – which has been making a name for itself in the French railway scene in recent years – announced in a press release its intention to increase the number of trips between the capital and the city of Lyon. Starting from December, it will offer users looking to travel to Paris an alternative to the Ouigo and TGV services from SNCF, with quite attractive prices.
The “Red Arrows” Accelerating
Starting December 14 (and believe us, that's coming up fast), Trenitalia is ramping up its service. After establishing itself on the Paris-Marseille route, the Italian company is expanding its offerings by providing more trips to Paris. While the line currently has 9 daily round trips, in just a few months, there will be 14 round trips made every day by the Frecciarossa, the “Red Arrows,” in addition to the journeys already available through SNCF.

Even with a name that suggests unmatched speed, this Lyon-Paris journey will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes, which is the same travel time as our good old TGV SNCF. And to rival Thierry Marx, who's in charge of dining on SNCF trains, the meals featuring Italian flavors are crafted by the starred chef Carlo Cracco.
First prices set at €23
« These additional frequencies aim to meet a growing demand from travelers, whether they are professionals or leisure seekers, and confirm Trenitalia's commitment to providing accessible and sustainable mobility », assures the company according to 20 Minutes. That's great, but at what price? Once again, Trenitalia is hitting hard with first prices set at €23 between Lyon and Paris. And the good news is that the ticket sales are underway!
