The new tram lines

The Terrasses de la Presqu'île project, launched in 2018, is finally set to come to life in 2024. This green walkway along the Saône River, facing the Vieux Lyon, in the Saint-Antoine area, promises a new relaxation space. In addition, the pedestrianization of the Presqu'île continues with new streets affected this year, in the 1st and 2nd arrondissements of Lyon. Fifteen streets will become permanently pedestrianized by 2025.

Greening of the Grande rue de la Guillotière!

.

The construction work on the main street of Guillotiere in Lyon includes plans to vegetate and calm down this emblematic artery. Green squares, wider sidewalks, a secure bike lane, and relaxation areas will be created. This project by the Lyon Metropolis aims to improve the quality of life for residents by promoting soft mobility and creating green spaces. Once completed, the main street of Guillotiere will be a pleasant and welcoming place for everyone.

Bike lanes for a greener city

Lyon is also focusing on environmentally friendly modes of transportation with the project Voies Lyonnaises. By 2026, no less than 12 cycling lanes will be set up, in line with the commitments of the green elected officials. The Metropolis aims to complete 90 kilometers of cycling lanes by next summer, already having built around thirty kilometers.

Changes coming to the shores of the Rhône River

As for the redevelopment of the banks of the Rhône (right bank), a major project is being planned, although its realization still requires some patience. However, the year 2024 will mark the beginning of a second phase of consultation and the selection of the winner for this project.

Big renovations for Perrache and Part-Dieu train stations

.

The train stations in Lyon continue to evolve. In 2024, the Perrache exchange center will begin its transformation with the "Ouvrons Perrache" operation, aimed at facilitating the South-North crossing. At the same time, the Part-Dieu station will see the delivery of the lower part of Place Béraudier, scheduled for 2024. This phase will include a bike parking with 1,300 spaces and a pedestrian corridor for metro access.
