After the T1 and T4 lines, it's now the turn of the T3, T7, and Rhônexpress lines to be affected by the major summer works. As part of the construction of the future T9 tram line, technical interventions will take place west of the Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie station to connect the new infrastructure to the existing network.

These operations will lead to major changes in circulation between July 15 and August 9, a particularly sensitive time for travelers, especially those heading to Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport via the Rhônexpress.

Fifteen days of total interruption on the three lines

The first phase of the work will be the most challenging. From July 15 to August 2, the T3, T7, and Rhônexpress lines will be completely interrupted in the affected areas. To minimize the impacts of this closure...

eture, TCL will set up several shuttle bus lines.

Travelers on the T3 line will be able to take buses between Meyzieu ZI and Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, as well as between Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie and Reconnaissance-Balzac. Specific shuttles will also provide the connection between Lyon Part-Dieu station, Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, and Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport to temporarily replace the Rhônexpress.

A gradual return, but still some disruptions

The return to normal won’t be immediate. Between August 3 and 9, traffic will gradually resume, but the T3 line will continue to face disruptions from Part-Dieu Villette towards Meyzieu. During this period, trains will no longer stop at Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie in this direction. Passengers wishing to reach this station will need to get off at Décines-Roosevelt before taking a T3 or T7 tram towards La Soie. However, traffic will operate normally from Meyzieu to Part-Dieu.

Even after the reopening.Progressive, interruptions will not be completely over. Complete shutdowns of the T3, T7, and Rhônexpress lines are scheduled for the nights of August 6 to 7, and then from August 9 to 10, starting at 10 PM. TCL clarifies that agents will be present on-site to assist users throughout the duration of the work. Travelers are also encouraged to regularly check traffic information before their trips, especially to plan their journeys to the airport or the eastern part of the Lyon metropolis.
