Tough break: this very popular free shuttle used by the people of Lyon is becoming pay-to-use (and quite expensive)

OL supporters will need to rethink their transport budget. The shuttle bus that provided free rides from the Meyzieu Panettes parking lot to the Groupama Stadium on match days is now paid. From now on, you will need to shell out 12.50 € by booking in advance, or 17.50 € if you buy your ticket on site. This change might cause some grumbles, especially since this service was a convenient and free way to get to the Décines venue without having to deal with traffic jams or parking near the stadium.

The end of the agreement between OL and Sytral changes everything

This rise in costs is directly tied to the end of the agreement that linked OL and Sytral since 2015. Expired this winter, this agreement has already led to several significant changes for supporters. The tram shuttles serving the Groupama Stadium are no longer included in match tickets or club subscriptions. Spectators who are not subscribed to the TCL network must pay.

Now, fans will need to buy a specific transportation ticket to get to the stadium, whereas this trip was previously included in their ticket.

A situation that could still change

However, nothing is set in stone. A review clause is scheduled in a year to reassess the collaboration terms between Olympique Lyonnais and Sytral. In the meantime, supporters will have to get used to these new prices, which will add to the overall cost of an evening at the Groupama Stadium.

Attending an OL match will now require a little extra effort… even for the journey!
