Since the start of November, it seems like the sun is playing hard to get with Lyon and its surroundings. In the first half of November, there were only 35 hours of sunshine in the capital of Gauls, which is a whopping 55% less than November 2023! And while the weather feels pretty gloomy this autumn, it doesn’t look like it's going to get any better... This week, the skies will once again be unsettled with temperatures continuing to drop and even the first snowflakes expected in the plains and possibly even in Lyon.

The arrival of snow and freezing temperatures

Starting Wednesday, temperatures will take a nosedive, with only 2°C in the morning and a high of 7°C during the day. On Thursday, it gets even worse as it will be 0°C in the morning and only 4°C in the afternoon, with snow expected in Lyon. Snow in Lyon on November 21st isn't unheard of, but it's still pretty early...

Friday will be the coldest day of the week, with a morning featuring negative temperatures, hitting -2°C on the thermometer and a maximum of 4°C. A polar cold wave will sweep through Lyon until Sunday, giving way to a "return to warmth" with 16°C at the peak of the day.

Well, we're talking about just a few tiny, scattered snowflakes. We'll have to wait a bit longer before we can draw and sculpt some snow doodles at the four corners of the city. You little rascals!
