This Monday, the TCL network is hit by a strike causing major disruptions in Lyon and its metropolitan area. Residents should expect station closures, reduced hours, and partially halted services. Subways, trams, and buses are affected, directly impacting daily commutes.
Subways in Lyon: Limited Lines and Closed Stations
The good news for lines A and C is that they are running normally, just like the funiculars F1 and F2. However, the situation is more complicated for the other lines. Line B is only operating from 5:30 AM to 7:30 PM, running between Stade de Gerland–Le Lou and Charpennes–Charles Hernu, with the stations Gare d’Oullins, Oullins Centre, and Saint-Genis-Laval Hôpital Lyon Sud closed. Line D is also facing significant restrictions: operating from 5 AM to 7:30 PM, it only connects Gare de Vaise to Grange-Blanche, leaving Laennec, Mermoz-Pinel out of service.l, Parilly and Gare de Vénissieux on the board.
Trams: most lines at a standstill
Only two lines are still running despite the TCL strike. The T2 runs every 10 minutes and the T3 every 7 minutes between Meyzieu Les Panettes and Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, from 4:30 AM to 7 PM. For the rest, the T1, T4, T5, T6, and T7 lines are completely halted, making travel in the east and south of the area quite tricky.
Buses: very limited service
The TCL bus network is also heavily affected, with many lines canceled. Some are operating normally (C200, C201, 6, 11, 12, 23, 30, 32, 47, 72, 86, 97…), while others only run from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM with spaced-out departures, like the C2, C3, C8, C10, C11, C13, C15, C19, C20, and the 9, 15, 24, 37, 59, and 63 lines. However, major lines like C1, C5, C9, C16, 3, 7, 25, 26, as well as 49, 62, 64, 71, and 90 are completely off the schedule.rsquo;stop, just like the S1, S4 shuttles, and several Zi routes.
The services that are still available
Despite the strike, some TCL services continue to operate normally. The Junior Direct school lines, buses from zones 3, 4, and 5, the Navigône river shuttle, and the Rhônexpress to Saint-Exupéry airport are still running. The park-and-ride facilities and TCL agencies are also open during regular hours, allowing users to find alternative solutions.
