On October 3rd and 4th, the SPA shelters in Brignais and Dompierre-sur-Veyle are opening their doors wide! It's the perfect chance to meet adorable animals available for adoption, discover what goes on behind the scenes at the shelters, and enjoy a weekend packed with fun activities.

For two days, the Lyon SPA shelters are inviting the public to walk through their doors, whether to adopt, simply discover the facilities, or support the organization. Dogs, cats, and small pets will be at the heart of this event dedicated to animal welfare and awareness, featuring activities for young and old alike.

For those seriously considering adoption, the teams will be on hand to guide visitors and answer their questions. People who already own a dog can even bring their companion: a meeting with some of the shelter dogs can be arranged to observe how they get along, depending on what the teams on site can accommodate.

Loads of activities in Brignais

The Brignais shelter will offer a particularly varied program throughout the weekend. Between an educational mini-farm, grooming demonstrations, stories from adoptive families, and discovering the work of a canine behaviorist, visitors will be able to learn more about animals and those who care for them every day.

A treasure hunt focused on animal protection, a solidarity flea market, a raffle, and live music will round out the day. On Saturday, a village will also bring together around ten partner organizations and animal protection professionals to interact directly with the public.

A family-friendly day in Dompierre-sur-Veyle

In Dompierre-sur-Veyle, families will be able to enjoy educational games, meet dogs available for adoption, and visit an educational farm. A workshop dedicated to biodiversity with the LPO Ain will also raise visitors' awareness about protecting local wildlife.

Personalized illustrations, a vintage market, and a charity raffle will round out this weekend dedicated to animal welfare. It's a wonderful opportunity to discover the shelters in a whole new way… and perhaps to leave with a new companion in your heart, or even in your car.
