After the success of the magnificent sound and light show « Lyon born of light, the time of builders » that lit up the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral in Lyon in 2021, director Damien Fontaine is back with an even more spectacular sequel: « The Medallion of Saint-Jean ». Starting from October 18, the Saint-Jean Cathedral in Vieux-Lyon will be the stage for a monumental spectacle that promises to captivate both young and old.

Over 100 performers and 300 costumes
This new show combines everything that made the first performance a hit, and even more! Get ready for an incredible mix of art, technology, and live performances. With more than a hundred performers donning no less than 300 stunning costumes, they'll take center stage in breathtaking sets designed by Damien Fontaine, the genius behind immersive 360° video mapping. With perfectly tuned lighting that complements the cathedral's architecture, along with 400 projectors – including 22 dedicated to video – the magic is set to unfold every second.

A Journey Through Lyon's Centuries
« The Medallion of Saint-Jean » tells the captivating story of a medallion that spans two centuries of Lyon's history, from 1711 to 1944, set against major events such as the turmoil of the Rhône and the Liberation. The show will shine a light on iconic figures of Lyon, all brought to life by Rhône-Alpes volunteers of all ages.

With 61 performances scheduled from October 18 to November 17 at 6:30 PM and 9 PM! There will be no room for boredom. Each evening will offer an immersive dive of 1 hour and 20 minutes into the history of the city, with over 30,000 spectators expected.
