This Monday, December 22, the sky stays cloudy all day with light showers popping in and out across the Lyon area. Temperatures are still playing it relatively mild, hitting 10 degrees in the morning and reaching up to 11 degrees in the afternoon. A shy drizzle makes a quiet appearance early in the evening before returning overnight, reminding us that winter still has a few tricks up its sleeve.
On Tuesday, no rain or wind is expected, but the sky remains quite heavy. Temperatures, however, are starting to get noticeably chilly. The thermometer shows 8 degrees in the morning, drops to 7 degrees in the afternoon and flirts with 5 degrees during the night. It seems like a calm day on the surface, but it's clearly marked as the transition before the big plunge.

Snow Expected for Christmas Eve in Lyon
It’s the day everyone is watching: Wednesday, December 24, could offer a snowy Christmas Eve in Lyon. From the morning, the sky stays gray and the temperatures drop quite a bit, with only 4 degrees expected. A northern wind, locally reaching up to 15 km/h, adds to the chilly feeling. And it’s early in the evening that the scene turns magical… or logistical, depending on how you look at it. Snow showers are forecasted, with temperatures hovering between 2 and 3 degrees. It's the perfect setup for picturing a white Christmas in the city, or at least a few flakes to accompany the turkey.
If the snow confirms, Lyon could very well experience a Christmas Eve straight out of a winter postcard. The question remains whether the flakes will settle on the ground or just make a quick visit.
One thing is for sure: thick coats, gloves, and caution will be essential for getting around. Christmas is coming, the cold is too... and magic just might fall from the sky.Source: Lyon Capitale
