No thumping bass or fiery dancefloor this weekend at the Petit Salon. The venue, known for keeping electro music lovers grooving until the early hours, is temporarily closing its doors for a week, according to information from BFM Lyon. The reason? Noise levels exceeding legal tolerance, recorded between November 14 and 16, 2024, at the home of a nearby resident. This situation, according to the prefecture, has been going on for several months, disrupting the lives of the neighborhood.

Not Enough Efforts

Yet, the managers assure that they have made efforts to limit these disturbances. "We try to manage as best as we can, but it's tough to control the noise from customers leaving, especially towards the tram," explains Benjamin Roche, the owner.

The club's representative spoke to BFM Lyon. Despite these adjustments, the decision has been made: administrative closure for seven days.

This sanction highlights a recurring issue in big cities: the coexistence of parties and local residents. While some lament a city slowly fading under the weight of restrictions, others welcome a decision that...will finally allow them to sleep peacefully. Now we just have to see if this closure will be enough to calm things down or if the Petit Salon will need to turn the volume down in the future. One thing is for sure: it’s going to be a heavy silence in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon this week.
