It was one of the big absences from the Parc de la Tête d'Or. Closed for over thirteen years, the famous Chalet will finally welcome its visitors starting September 18, 2026. This iconic building, spanning 1,700 m² and owned by the City of Lyon, has undergone a complete renovation that began in spring 2025. In total, 7.5 million euros have been invested to transform this historic site into a place that addresses the great challenges of tomorrow. The project is led by a group of private investors who will operate the site under a fifty-year lease.

A new place dedicated to ecological transition in the heart of Lyon
The Chalet will no longer just be a restaurant; it will become a genuine space for raising environmental awareness. Gone are the days of simply grabbing coffee after a stroll. The new project is built on three main pillars: ecological transition, sustainable food, and arts and culture. Visitors will be able to explore exhibition spaces, conference rooms, coworking areas, and even participate in activities and events focused on environmental issues. This vision transforms the Chalet into a vibrant community hub rather than just a renovated building.

The project also focuses on ecological excellence. No less than 250 photovoltaic panels have been installed to ensure that the building produces more energy than it consumes. This achievement perfectly illustrates the new philosophy of the space, aimed at more sustainable operations. This commitment will also be reflected in the various activities offered, including Mission Forêt, an immersive journey dedicated to biodiversity and forest ecosystems that will be accessible from the opening.

The return of a restaurant with a huge terrace
Great news for food lovers: the Chalet will also return to its historic role as a restaurant. It's La Fabuleuse Cantine that will take charge of the kitchen, featuring a menu highlighting local and seasonal products. The restaurant will have 140 indoor seats and 100 seats on the terrace, providing one of the most delightful settings in Lyon for a breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a lovely Sunday brunch right in the middle of the Parc de la Tête d'Or.
