An Old Video Store Transformed into a Time Machine
In Lyon, the Memory Club is all set to awaken the child within each of us. From the moment you step in, visitors will be immersed in the unique vibe of the 90s. Old tube televisions showcasing classic series, cult magazines left on the tables, pop culture references on every wall... Everything here is designed to recreate a time when the internet still made those nostalgic dial-up sounds when it connected.

The place will take the shape of a bar inspired by the old cafeterias, designed as an intergenerational space where nostalgic folks can share their memories while younger visitors will discover a universe they’ve only known through the tales of their elders.
Retro Arcade Room and Teen Hangout
At the heart of the project is undeniably its vast area dedicated to retro-gaming. Around twenty iconic arcade machines will be available, with credits starting at just 50 cents. Visitors can relive classic video games like Dragon's Lair 2, Time Crisis, Mortal Kombat, and Ridge Racer. To enhance the experience, seven pinball machines, featuring a mix of vintage models and more recent creations, vthey will enrich this true gamer’s treasure trove. It’s enough to turn a simple outing with friends into a nostalgic marathon right up until closing time.
The Memory Club takes the concept even further with a totally unique room. A genuine teenager's room frozen in the '90s can be reserved for a fun evening with friends. Iconic posters, neon lights, old CRT screens, and period decor will recreate the atmosphere of the rooms where a whole generation grew up. Depending on your desires, the space can host karaoke nights, movie screenings, or just some timeless relaxation.
A Lyon-based project run by passionate people
Behind this adventure are several key figures from the Lyon cultural scene. The Art’cade association, specializing in restoring arcade machines since...for over eight years, will lead a shared workshop dedicated to the preservation of vintage arcade games. Several iconic machines are already being restored, including an Astro City, a Naomi, and Daytona USA.
Alongside Art’cade, the teams from Citée des Halles, Vitamine 7, and Lieux Solides are joining forces to create this unique third place. With an opening planned for September 2026, free entry, and open six days a week, the Memory Club is already shaping up to be one of the most original and anticipated projects on the Lyon scene. One thing is for sure: the 90s have not had their final word!
