Lyon continues to push the boundaries of urban well-being. This summer, a giant jacuzzi will be installed right in the heart of the Parc de la Tête d'Or, just a stone's throw from the lake. It's a first in France, promising to attract both relaxation enthusiasts and curious adventurers seeking unique experiences.

An "outdoor relaxation bubble"

Imagined by a collective of urban planners and thermal specialists, this XXL jacuzzi will be able to accommodate up to 50 people at the same time. Heated to a delightful 38°C using an eco-friendly and responsible system, it will be open for free access during the day and reserved for guided relaxation sessions in the evening. "We want to offer a moment of absolute relaxation in the heart of the city, in harmony with nature," explains one of the project leaders.

While the idea already delights part of the Lyonnais, it also raises some eyebrows. This Some people are pointing fingers at a "thermalization" of the park. "First the boats on the lake, now a jacuzzi... Soon there’ll be a sauna in the Great Greenhouses?!" exclaims a local resident. Nature heritage defenders are also worried about the ecological impact of such a setup, particularly concerning water and energy consumption.

A highly anticipated inauguration

Despite the controversies, construction has already begun and the inauguration is set for early summer. There are plans for "jacuzzi yoga" sessions, midnight baths, and even a partnership with a famous spa from Lyon to enhance the offering. It remains to be seen whether the people of Lyon will dive in with enthusiasm… or if the project will eventually flop under pressure.
