In Lyon, riding the metro on hot summer days can sometimes feel impossible. That's why the TCL network has decided to take action to combat the frequent heatwaves expected during the summer. One key measure they've implemented is the installation of water fountains in 13 stations across the metropolitan area. Fountains were already installed during the inauguration of the extension of line B in October 2023 at the Oullins Centre and Saint-Genis-Laval Hôpital Sud stations. Now, 11 other stations have been equipped with fountains as well: Perrache, Hôtel de Ville - Louis Pradel, Charpennes - Charles Hernu, Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, Part-Dieu Vivier Merle, Jean Macé, Croix-Rousse, Grange Blanche, Saxe-Gambetta, Gorge de Loup, and Gare de Vaise. These fountains will provide refreshing water for Lyon users during heatwaves. What a wonderful initiative to help keep everyone cool!
