An international movement for the environment

A seemingly simple action, but it carries a very special symbolic meaning. Once a year, 185 countries celebrate Earth Hour, demonstrating their ecological commitment. New York, London, Sydney, Singapore, as well as Paris, Lille, Rouen, Lyon, Marseille, and La Rochelle join in and are plunged into darkness for one hour.

What's the goal of such an initiative? To collectively raise awareness of our ultra-connected lifestyles and consumption habits, along with the dangers our planet faces. More tangibly, this blackout, though it lasts only an hour, allows us to save several thousand tons of CO2.

Dozens of Lyon monuments go dark

font-weight: 400;">In Lyon, this means that the most iconic monuments and places in the capital of the Gauls will be turned off. This includes places like the City Hall, the Palais de la Bourse, the Théâtre des Célestins, the bridges, and dozens of other landmarks in the city that will be plunged into darkness. In total, nearly 370 sites will be involved in this operation across the city.
