The great and beautiful love story between Gad Elmaleh and Lyon began in 1995, as explained by Le Progrès: young Gad landed a role as an extra at the National Popular Theatre (TNP) in Villeurbanne. "I strolled through the streets of Lyon, and I was experiencing something important in my career," he recalls with a touch of nostalgia in the interview with Neo. This first contact with the city marked the beginning of a special relationship between the artist and Lyon—a starting point for his rise.

An admiration that has lasted for 30 years

Since then, the water has flowed under the bridges of the Saône, but Gad's attachment to Lyon has remained steadfast. He fondly speaks of Lyon's bouchons, the Opera, and all the theaters that shaped his art. More than just a backdrop, the city has given Gad a unique experience thanks to its demanding audience: "When it's funny, they really go for it."

e; fond. When it’s a little below, they remain puzzled. It’s just right, and it pushes us to go beyond ourselves."
