After years of being cramped, the Lyon international bus station is starting a new chapter. The historic Perrache site, which no longer meets the current demands and visitor numbers, is being replaced by a temporary location in Gerland, set to last for five to seven years. This strategic move is designed to streamline traffic and enhance the travel experience.
A XXL site at the heart of Lyon's mobility
Located on part of the Palais des Sports parking lot, the new bus station is thinking big. With over 8,000 m² of space, the site boasts excellent connections to public transport thanks to metro line B, the future T10 tram line, and a dense bus network. For cars, direct access to the ring road and the M6/M7 routes makes it easy for coaches to arrive and depart.

Gerland will welcome travelers with a modern, functional, and clear facility. The site features 17 boarding and drop-off platforms, traffic regulation areas, and a real passenger building. Waiting rooms, information and ticket counters, automatic lockers, public restrooms, and a rest area for drivers: everything has been designed to make waiting more comfortable.

Parking: a key issue for the neighborhood
The Lyon Metropolis has also anticipated the needs of local residents and employees. A parking lot with 275 spaces is currently being created right next to the site. At the same time, the old TCL Gerland park-and-ride is being refurbished to provide an additional 275 spaces. In total, 550 spaces will be managed by LPA Mobilités, with pricing aligned to that of parking in the 7th arrondissement.
