In Lyon, a charming butcher shop in the Guillotière neighborhood has just been urgently closed by the Rhône prefecture. The reason? Serious violations of hygiene rules, including the presence of cockroaches and food unfit for consumption. A bold decision made to protect the health of consumers.

The Rhône Prefecture has ordered the immediate closure of the El Wafaa butcher shop following a health inspection deemed alarming. Located at the corner of Paul-Bert and Moncey streets in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon, this halal establishment had to shut its doors on Thursday, March 5th, after a health inspection revealed serious violations of hygiene rules. The prefectural order mentions problems serious enough to justify an immediate administrative closure while the situation is rectified. This decision comes in a particularly lively neighborhood near the Gabriel-Péri square, an area where food businesses are plentiful and highly frequented.
