This splendid 5-star hotel is reopening its doors in Lyon with a new speakeasy and a spa!

Perched on the hill of Fourvière with its almost cheeky view of the rooftops of Lyon, the Villa Florentine has just officially reopened its doors after a fabulous makeover. Closed for several months for renovations, this iconic hotel in Lyon welcomed its first guests on April 30 in a completely reimagined version. Behind this rebirth is Beauvallon Collection, which entrusted the artistic direction of the project to interior architect Joséphine Fossey. The goal? To modernize the experience while honoring the unique history of the place.

Before becoming a five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel, Villa Florentine was once a 17th-century convent. And here, there's no intention of erasing that heritage. Instead, the renovation proudly showcases a subtle blend of monastic inspirations, Florentine elegance, and Lyonnais identity.

Stone, wood, silk: a warmer, less stiff luxury

Gone are the cold, slightly intimidating palace vibes. The new Villa Florentine now embraces a warm and ultra-sensory luxury experience. The establishment offers 36 rooms and suites, ranging from 23 to 128 m², with a particular emphasis on noble materials. Burgundy stone, solid oak, refined fabrics, and Lyonnais silks create an elegant decor without falling into the cliché of grandiosity.
