The Editor

Ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, Pérouges puts on its finest attire for the event "Pérouges, the Medieval". Every year, the municipal events office outdoes itself to offer visitors a total immersion into the era of knights and troubadours. And this 2024 edition, called "1468! The Clamor of Shields", promises to be particularly breathtaking.

A whole village in medieval times

The program for the weekend of June 8 and 9 promises to be rich and varied. Artists, renowned companies, and talented musicians from all over France and Europe will come together to amaze you. The highlight of the weekend: a unique show where men in armor will cross swords in breathtaking choreographies. Get ready to be transported to the heart of the action!

Everywhere in the village, it will be a medieval frenzy. Dozens of tents set up at the foot of the citadel will welcome camps of knights and soldiers. In period costumes, men, women, and children will be busy with various tasks: lighting the fire for the forge, preparing meals, running artisan stalls... Medieval life will take over for 48 hours.

Loads of Entertainment and a Grand Medieval Market

The magic of Pérouges doesn't stop there. A grand medieval market will allow you to discover and purchase authentic artisanal objects from the time period. Workshops and shows, sometimes unusual, will also liven up the weekend. And of course, don't miss the grand parade that will bring the cobbled streets of the city to life. For those who want to fully immerse themselves, feel free to come in costume! Not only will you blend in with the surroundings, but it will also add a touch of fun and authenticity to your experience. Pérouges, for a weekend, will transform into a lively theater where every visitor can become an actor.
