This weekend, January 24th and 25th, the Lyon Museum of Fine Arts transforms into a huge playground for Arsène Lupin fans. The gentleman-thief leaves the Aiguille Creuse in Étretat to take over the museum's galleries for a weekend full of adventure, mysteries, and art. It's an invitation to come dressed up, with family or friends, to experience art in a whole new way—like a mysterious detective story!

An escape game at the heart of the collections

Throughout the weekend, visitors can join “The Secret Museum of Arsène Lupin”, an escape game created by the author Bertrand Puard. Armed with their burglar's notebook, both kids and adults will need to solve puzzles scattered throughout the galleries to find artworks supposedly stolen by Lupin. It's an immersive experience, included with the entrance ticket, turning the museum into a real adventure story backdrop.

In the baroque refectory, the universe of Arsène Lupin also unfolds into social games. Throughout the day, families can challenge each other with boards inspired by the famous thief, joined by the association “I don’t care, I cheat.” It’s a fun way to extend the experience between two puzzles and test your cleverness against the gentleman thief.

Arsène Lupin, between myth and legend

Children aged 8 and up are invited to conduct an investigation during writing workshops led by Bertrand Puard. The scenario plunges participants into the heart of the Hollow Needle, facing an impossible disappearance of Arsène Lupin. Personalized clues, imagination, and logic blend together to write their own resolution, mixing literature with a treasure hunt.

The weekend is also enriched with cultural highlights featuring a roundtable and a screening.A documentary. Researchers, authors, and enthusiasts reflect on the character's origins, his connection to Étretat, and his enduring presence in pop culture. This Sunday, the documentary “Arsène” will present a fascinating portrait of the thief with a thousand faces. A fun, clever, and immersive weekend where art and adventure truly make a great pairing in Lyon.
