This is a unique opportunity for astronomy lovers and universe mysteries enthusiasts. On June 14 and 15, the Observatory of Lyon (located in Saint-Genis-Laval) will open its doors to the public for free. This year, the event is themed "back to the origins", echoing the research programs of Labex LIO and PEPR Origins. Get ready for a journey through time and space, guided by passionate astrophysicists and geologists. Workshops and activities for everyone will be available, regardless of age or level of astronomical knowledge. Kids can try their hand at building and launching rockets, or play as young paleontologists. For adults, fascinating exhibitions and captivating conferences await, led by experts in the field.

Admire the stars with a giant telescope

One of the main highlights of these two days is the big illustrated astronomy session! You will have the opportunity to observe the stars through different observation instruments, including an impressive one-meter telescope. A magical moment to contemplate the night sky like never before.
