Attention, skaters, BMXers, and thrill-seekers: the Metropole of Lyon is about to unveil an exceptional spot! Nestled at the foot of the Peace Bridge, along the banks of the Rhône, the brand new skatepark in Caluire-et-Cuire will be the largest in the region. Its opening is expected in just a few days, and the excitement is through the roof among Lyon's riders.
With its 2,300 m², this XXL skating space has been designed to cater to both beginners and experts. On one side, there's the “street” area, where newcomers can gently get introduced to the joys of skating. On the other, a “bowl” zone dedicated to the more daring, featuring curves and modules designed for serious tricks. All inspired by urban furniture, keeping it close to skate culture and ensuring intense sessions.

An absolutely unique skatepark in the region
To ensure top-notch quality, the Caluire town hall turned to local experts. The association Roule qui peut, a true driving force for skateboarding in Villeurbanne, contributed its expertise to shape a space that meets the expectations of riders. On the design side, it was Brice Baleydier, founder of Arkaik Concept and a reference in the field, who led the project.
The construction, which began in June 2024, is nearing completion. All that’s left is to prepare the boards and wait for the opening to test out this new riding paradise! One thing is for sure: this skatepark is set to quickly become a must-visit spot on the Lyon scene! And all with a lovely view of the Rhône, please...
