It's hard to find a more deserving city than Lyon to host such an event. Once known as Lugdunum, the capital of Gaul during the Roman Empire, this Rhone city is set to reconnect with its roots for two exceptional evenings. On July 24 and 25, the Lyon Hippodrome – Carré de Soie will temporarily trade in horse races to transform into a vast Roman Colosseum.

With ROME: Forbidden Fights, spectators don't just come to watch a show. They dive into a truly living fresco where the boundaries between history, theater, and action disappear. From the very first moments, Caesar enters to the cheers of the crowd as gladiators take to the arena for a series of impressive battles.
A plot that sends the arena into chaos
The originality of ROME: Forbidden Fights lies in its immersive storyline. While the confrontations seem to follow the traditional protocol of the Empire's games, two prisoners decide to rebel. The arena then shifts into a whole new dimension. Challenges, spectacular fights, twists, and ruthless clashes all raise the tension. The rules dissolve.enters gradually, and survival becomes the sole objective of the fighters. A staging designed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats until the final verdict.

After enchanting the audience in Spain, ROME: Forbidden Fights is now arriving in France before continuing its journey in Italy. This choice is no coincidence, as Lyon has a strong connection to Roman history. Two performances will be held each evening at 6 PM and 9 PM, lasting about an hour. Open to all audiences, this event promises a complete immersion into the fascinating world of gladiators. It's a rare opportunity to see Lyon trade its modern metropolis outfit for that of Lugdunum, for a spectacular trip right into the heart of Antiquity.
