The Editor

What if we made reading more accessible to everyone? That's the wonderfully crazy challenge that the Nuits de la Lecture took on 9 years ago when they were created. Since then, every year, they include 4 days and 4 nights celebrating the unconditional love of reading, with a specific theme for each edition. This year, the theme is quite varied: heritage. It's a notion as intimate as it is collective, touching on concepts of transmission, inheritance, and re-reading.

A gigantic event

With just a few days to go before the festivities begin, more than 7,000 physical and digital events are already scheduled in over 3,000 libraries, bookstores, museums, monuments, and schools... All across France, from Paris to Corsica, including Brittany, and even abroad and online. Tremendous!

The programming is varied and targets all audiences: historical readers or those more poetic, lovers of letters, young or not so young, in short, everyone.

Two events that you definitely shouldn't miss if you can! Luckily, with the thousands of activities available over these 4 days, you'll easily find one that’s perfect for you. And if browsing the full program (which you can find right here) feels a bit overwhelming for some, we’ve got our top 3 favorites to discover in the area!

Comics and Memories at the Museum of Casts

With a bit more scientific perspective, the Museum of Casts will celebrate the 9th art by showcasing works centered around the theme of memory (musical memory, historical memory, memory ...semantic), but also of research. A playful and accessible approach to the world of sciences that is sure to captivate those who swear by bubbles, columns, and boards.
