Salles-Arbuissonnas-en-Beaujolais is not just a long name (the 5th longest in France!), it is also an immersion in history. This village is home to the last Romanesque cloister in the Rhône, an architectural marvel built in the 10th century by Cluniac monks. A perfectly preserved cloister that is part of the priory of Saint-Martin-de-Salles, alongside a Romanesque church and other historical buildings.

A unique village in the Rhône
Developed around a Benedictine priory, the former village of Salles stands out for its 11th century golden stone church with a Romanesque door, and the 18th century chapter esplanade, lined with lime trees and ancient houses of Canonesses. Arbuissonnas, on the other hand, charms with its church and former priory belonging to the Abbey of Ainay. These two villages, merged in 1976, now form the village of Salles-Arbuissonnas-en-Beaujolais.
