No need to buy a ticket to Disneyland Paris or watch a horror film to get the chills in Lyon. In the 8th arrondissement, Christophe Cohade's house has become one of the most impressive Halloween decorations in the region. For six years, this passionate resident has been transforming his home on Rue Gaston-Brissac into a genuine open-air haunted house.

Every October, he unleashes his creativity to transform his facade and garden. Oversized spider webs, witches, steaming cauldrons, skeletons and ghosts take over the place. And the result is far from being limited to a few pumpkins sitting on the doorstep!

A haunted house that draws curious visitors from all over Lyon
Lighting effects, eerie soundscapes, and carefully crafted staging: Christophe Cohade imagines a truly immersive scenography that attracts hundreds of visitors each year as night falls. A passion that has even caught the attention of regional media, notably Le Progrès and BFM Lyon.

The big event obviously takes place on the evening of October 31st, when neighborhood kids come by to try their luck at collecting some candy. Beyond the spectacular decoration, this initiative has become a lovely moment of conviviality between neighbors and visitors. So, if you find yourself on rue Gaston-Brissac in Lyon 8e during Halloween season, keep your eyes peeled… and get ready for a few thrills!
