A Day Where the Pentes Becomes a Giant Playground
In Lyon, certain events perfectly embody the spirit of a neighborhood. Show les Pentes is definitely one of them. On Saturday, May 23rd, the steep streets of Croix-Rousse will once again transform into an oversized artistic laboratory with a lineup that's as eclectic as it is energetic.
Organized by the association La Vitrine des Pentes in collaboration with My Presqu'île and with the support of the City of Lyon, this event returns for its third edition, promising to be even more vibrant. The idea? To showcase everything that makes the Pentes' heart beat: independent creators, hidden workshops behind the windows, artists, collectives, and that unique atmosphere blending an urban village vibe with a touch of Lyon's micro-Berlin.
Ethical Fashion, Concerts, and Drag Shows in the Heart of Lyon
Throughout the day, visitors can wander between creator markets, immersive workshops, artisanal demonstrations, and tastings in the local shops. The highlight will be the grand ethical fashion parade scheduled to start at 4 PM. An urban catwalk that will traverse the streets of the Pentes, showcasing local and committed creations, far away from the formatted standards of fast fashion.
And because the Pentes never do things halfway, Sathonay Square will host a giant open-air event from noon to 11 PM featuring DJ sets, dance battles, concerts, snacks, and even a drag show. Yes, all of this in the same day! A special mention goes to “Show The Space Dog,” a completely wacky dog event that might just steal the spotlight from quite a few humans.
A total immersion in the independent spirit of the Pentes
Beyond the party, Show les Pentes mainly celebrates a vibrant, creative, and deeply independent neighborhood. From Rue des Capucins to Passage Thiaffait, through Montée de la Grande Côte and Rue René Leynaud, the whole area transforms into an open-air artistic journey. Here, you can knock on workshop doors, discover local crafts, chat with artisans, and dive into the creative spirit of the neighborhood.
