The madness of Carnival is going to sweep over Lyon! For its 30th edition, the famous Carnival of the Dragons of Saint-Georges is returning to the lovely neighborhood of the old town. The event is set for Saturday, May 18th starting from Valensio square (metro and parking Vieux-Lyon, St Georges district). Initially scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, the Carnival had been postponed due to storm Nelson blowing over Lyon.

Stroll, fireworks, and ball under the stars

This anniversary edition will be themed on the enchanting universe of Peter Pan, and the program promises to be packed throughout the day: face painting for both kids and adults, a stroll in the Saint-Georges neighborhood to the beat of two batucadas (Batudamba from the MJC of Vieux Lyon and the group Brazucada) and the giant dragon, giant wooden games brought from the Quai des Ludes specially for the occasion, drinks and snacks available on site, the burning of Mr. Carnaval in front of the Saint-Georges church, the incomparable fireworks display from the Saint-Georges footbridge, and not forgetting the grand ball under the stars with free concerts.

The party promises to be beautiful in the most beautiful district of Lyon!
