The Editor

On Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th, pumpkins will be everywhere at the Botanical Garden in Tête d'Or Park. For this new edition, the festival invites Lyonnais to discover autumn in all its forms, with delicious treats, activities, performances, and discoveries around biodiversity.

This year's theme promises notably a real journey around the world in 80 pumpkins, with programming designed for both the curious and families alike. Educational workshops, discovery of different varieties of seasonal fruits and vegetables, cookie decorating, and an amazing introduction to pumpkin music will fill the weekend.

Pumpkins, and music too

The Pumpkin Festival isn't just here to fill your baskets: it also wants to take your ears on a journey. Several concerts will fill the Botanical Garden with sounds from Ireland, Bulgaria, Argentina, and Madagascar.

To that will be added theatrical walks and various entertainment, transforming a simple autumn stroll through the park into a genuine little cultural getaway.

A market for food lovers

Food enthusiasts will obviously have their own playground with the gourmet and artisanal market. Fresh squashes, pumpkin seed oils, jams, crispy squash treats and other sweet or savory specialties will be on offer. And to try something different from the traditional orange soup, a Kazakh meal centered around squash will let you discover the vegetable from a rather exotic angle.

Finally, the Lyon Nature Village will offer fun and educational activities about autumn biodiversity. Just the thing to learn a thing or two between tastings.
