In the current context, many are turning to alternative medicine, and they’re absolutely right! Among the lesser-known practices in France, Jin Shin Jyutsu is clearly gaining popularity: not far from us, in Germany, there are as many JSJ practitioners (the cute nickname for Jin Shin Jyutsu) as there are osteopaths in France! In the United States, it’s even used in hospitals to support chemotherapy treatments. And in Lyon, we're lucky to have an expert in the field: Sophie Brunel (whom we've mentioned many times before) who recently released her first book titled "Jin Shin Jyutsu, my health in 21 acupressure rituals" on September 19.

How Does Jin Shin Jyutsu Work?

In practice, Jin Shin Jyutsu involves placing hands on energetic points of the body (which remains clothed) to harmonize the vital energy flowing through us. The beauty of JSJ lies in the fact that it is practiced without needles or pressure, just the gentle touch of hands, making it very accessible. If our vital energy stagnates, symptoms may arise either physically or mentally (like pain, stress, etc.). This art is thus effective for preventing issues and maintaining good health; it's great for nurturing our emotional and physiological well-being; it can help with more specific concerns (whether occasional or ongoing) such as digestive troubles, sleep issues, back pain, burnout, or cystitis; and also promotes fertility (JSJ shows excellent results for lifting...to overcome the obstacles that sometimes prevent pregnancies).

A saving ancestral practice for body and mind

Although powerful in its effects, Jin Shin Jyutsu carries no risk of side effects since it works with the recipient's own energy. In other words, practicing it can only do you good! That's why Sophie Brunel, a naturopath based at Espace Symphytum, a hub of therapists at 163 rue Duguesclin in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, offers individual sessions at her office for the whole family, no health conditions required (by reservation directly through her website).
