Great news for ski lovers and fans of snowy landscapes! The Italian company Trenitalia is expanding its Frecciarossa high-speed train services in France to serve Savoie from Lyon. Starting December 15, every weekend until the end of March 2025, these trains will extend their usual journey from Paris-Lyon to directly connect to Chambéry and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, making access to the ski resorts even more convenient.

This new route is a response to the growing demand for travel to the Alps and also serves to make up for the reduction of trips to Milan, explains Fabrice Toledano, marketing director of Trenitalia France, in comments picked up by Le Progrès. Currently, the occupancy rate of trains between Paris and Lyon is 60 to 65%, compared to 85% on the Paris-Milan line before the incident.
With this special service to Savoie, Trenitalia aims to make accessing the ski resorts easier while positioning itself as a key player in mountain mobility this winter.
