A dispensary twice as big and better located
Out with the old cramped space of the SPA in Lyon. This new dispensary, located just 400 meters from the Part-Dieu train station, will be twice as spacious. A strategic location that's easy to reach, designed to provide free veterinary care to those who need it most. If you're homeless or receiving social aid, you can ensure your loyal companion receives compassionate care.
Inside, the future building promises to be a hub of practicality and modernity: two consultation rooms, one of which is accessible for those with reduced mobility, a pre-operative room, and two recovery rooms for top-quality care.
A strengthened mission of solidarity
Jacques-Charles Fombonne, the volunteer president of the SPA, is excited about this project and expresses his joy...te;s par Lyon Capitale : « We are taking an essential step to provide quality veterinary care and strengthen our mission of solidarity » This dispensary wouldn't have come to life without a boost from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, which financed the project with 200,000 euros out of a total of 890,000 euros.
In 2023, the current dispensary took care of over 8,700 animals. With an expanded space and a team that will grow even more in 2026, this number could skyrocket. A new place that symbolizes a helping hand to those going through tough times. Because keeping your pet close is also preserving a vital bond, an invaluable comfort.
