It’s a giant wink, like a piece of French pop transformed into an urban mural. Since Tuesday, May 5th, the Confluence district in Lyon proudly showcases a XXL tribute to Hubert Mounier, aka Cleet Boris, the iconic voice of L’Affaire Louis’Trio and a sensitive writer of the ninth art.
More than 5,000 ceramic tiles
Right in the heart of the 2,500 m² square of Marché Gare, between the tracks of Perrache and the buzz of the new Sainte-Blandine neighborhood, a stunning 620 m² mural, made up of no less than 5,270 ceramic tiles, now spreads out. This is a work that is both massive and poetic, reinterpreting a drawing from his comic La Maison de pain d’épice, Journal d’un disque, like a memory frozen in ceramics.

This is the result of a wonderful collaboration between the architects of BigBang and graphic designer Frédéric Basset, who brilliantly captured Mounier's retro-melancholic world in a pop-accented mosaic, balancing nostalgia with avant-garde flair. The inauguration, supported by the City, the Métropole, and SPL Lyon Confluence, firmly places this artwork in a transforming area where urban art converses with Lyon's cultural heritage.

This artistic gesture is not just a static tribute; it's also a bridge between generations: a reminder that a city is also built by its artists, their music notes, comic book bubbles, and bright colors. In Lyon, the memory of Cleet Boris continues to sing more than ever.
