We didn't necessarily expect it, but it makes us happy: a beer spa has just opened in Lyon at 6 rue Marius Gonin in the 5th arrondissement. Going by the sweet name of The Holy Hop, this little piece of paradise is revealed in a setting with stone walls and wooden tubs. The program: 2 rooms with 2 different atmospheres. One more cozy with a straw bed and sauna, the other more social with board games and a sofa. Each room has 2 wooden tubs with a tap in the middle allowing you to pour yourself a local beer of your choice from 2 options.
A beer spa in the heart of Lyon
Two people can enjoy each bath and it is even possible to privatize the rooms for events (birthday, bachelor or bachelorette party). The Holy Hop offers one or two-hour sessions with many options available such as sauna, wine bottles, and even delicious appetizer platters made with fresh and local products. Once the session begins, the team pours all the ingredients for beer making into your bubbling bath: malt, beer yeast, and hops for their benefits on body and mind.
One hour and one liter of beer included
But why beer? On one hand, we have hops, an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient that cleanses, softens the skin, fights against impurities, and helps to relax and reduce anxiety thanks to its relaxing properties. Then we have malt, rich in vitamins, which improves the texture and appearance of the skin, making it softer and smoother. A miracle product that also has anti-aging benefits. Lastly, beer yeast contains a large number of proteins that strengthen nails, hair, and skin.
The 1-hour spa formula is offered starting at 49 euros per person (for a reservation of 4 people) and the 2-hour formula starting at 88 euros per person (with the sauna option at 10 euros per hour) and best of all, a liter of beer per person is included. We don't know about you, but that's exactly how we imagined paradise...
