It all started with a simple yet powerful idea: to make it easier for abandoned animals to find temporary homes. A year and a half ago, Manon Stubbe set herself a clear mission: to create a digital tool to help overwhelmed animal associations find emergency foster families. Summer arrives, abandonments soar, shelters overflow... and she decides to take action. Thanks to Lyon Start’Up and then the Starthep incubator in the 8th district, her project took shape, grew, and captivated many.

A solution to overcrowded shelters

In light of the lack of space in shelters, foster families have become a lifeline. Some animals have been abandoned, while others were seized in dramatic conditions waiting for a judicial decision. Today, all these little ones need a roof over their heads, some human warmth—even if just temporary—and Kiweeto finally offers a smooth, simple, and effective solution. Say goodbye to random searches on Facebook: here, everything is centralized, filtered, and organized.

With over 400 families already registered and about fifty partner organizations, Kiweeto acts like a smart directory. Location, presence of children or other animals, specific needs... each profile is carefully selected to match with the pet.mal le plus adapté. And what if no home matches? An ad is posted directly on the site to find that rare gem. As a result, about thirty dogs, cats, and other furry balls have already found temporary refuge, or even more if they hit it off.

A springboard to adoption… or to raising awareness

This temporary cohabitation also allows you to test life with a pet without pressure. Sometimes, it’s just the little spark needed to adopt, or simply a generous gesture to relieve a critical situation. In any case, it’s a win-win: the animal is no longer in distress, and the family discovers a heartwarming and supportive adventure.

The adventure is just beginning. A mobile app is in the works, with a launch planned for this fall. Even more accessible, even more intuitive, it will help bring more households into this chain of animal solidarity. And what if, tomorrow, welcoming an animal became as ordinary as ordering a meal or calling a ride? Thanks to Manon, we believe in it. Strongly.
