The Editor

From November 21 to December 24, Place Carnot transforms into a real Christmas village. Each year, the chalets set up under the shimmering lights, the aromas of mulled wine fill the air, and families flock in to dive into the magic of the festivities. Entertainment, lights, and friendliness are on the agenda, offering Lyon residents and visitors an enchanted pause in the heart of the Presqu'île.

Celebrating craftsmanship and know-how

The Lyon Christmas Market is mainly a showcase for local talent. Producers and artisans from all over the region present their skills: ceramics, jewelry, leather goods, textiles, and handmade Christmas decorations. All of this, under the watchful eye of the City of Lyon, which ensures an authentic and diverse offering. The goal remains unchanged: to support local creation and highlight “Made in Lyon.”

A Solidarity and Tasty Market

This year again, an entire chalet will be dedicated to artisans labeled “Made in Lyon and its surroundings.” Here, you'll discover the delicate creations of Marion Peter Ceramist, the elegant bags from BE Maroquinerie, the poetic cyanotypes by Bleu Solstice, the candles from Onze Octobre, and the refined jewelry and illustrations by Marina Vandel. A wonderful mix of talent and authenticity made in Lyon, perfect for finding a unique gift.

Because Christmas is also about sharing, several chalets will be dedicated to charitable organizations. Job and integration stands will also find their place here, reminding us that the spirit of Christmas is above all about solidarity. And on the tasty side, there's no way to miss out on...;sister to local products: gingerbread, candied chestnuts, foie gras, honey, or mulled wine. It's safe to say you'll want to come with an empty stomach and an open heart.
