One of the app's main challenges is precisely avoiding fake profiles, a recurring problem on online dating platforms. To use messaging, each new user must go through an original identity verification process: a selfie accompanied by a handwritten note.
Without this validation step, it's impossible to send messages, which allows Flirly.love to limit ghost accounts and nasty surprises. Users can also set their own preferences about who is allowed to contact them.
