On May 30th, the A line of the Lyon Metro is swapping its announcements for some lovely vocal harmonies. Dreamed up by the Chœur Spirito, the event “Ligne A Cappella” offers an experience that’s both surprising and delightful: 14 free concerts spread out across the 14 stations of the line. From Perrache to Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, stopping by Bellecour or Gratte-Ciel, music is everywhere, no tickets or reservations required. The concept is simple: you experience the city in a whole new way, to the rhythm of voices. Beware, it will be c

concerts around the metro stations and not directly in the trains.

Three Musical Worlds for a Seamless Journey

Behind this extraordinary day, the artistic director Thibaut Louppe has crafted a delightful program. Three ensembles, three vibes, and one mission: to make you feel alive between two stations. The Spirito Quartet brings to life the great classics, from Jules Massenet to Camille Saint-Saëns, while the Spirito Octet and the Academic Choir mix British pop with works by Benjamin Britten and some of George Gershwin's masterpieces!

From 10 AM to 6 PM, the metropolis transforms into an open-air stage. You might stumble upon a concert while running errands, grabbing brunch, or just wandering around. A performance at Université Catholique de Lyon, another at Sofitel Lyon Bellecour, or a stop at Parc des Chanteurs… Music pops up where you least expect it, and that’s precisely what makes the event so delightful. Even everyday spots like a library, a quay, or a station become fleeting cultural hotspots. A clever way to rediscover Lyon from a new angle, effortlessly and with lots of joy.Event style.
